| From the "it's never over 'til it's over" file comes this story about a new way for the digitally-challenged to reap the rewards of a high-tech life. The Cisco/Sun Academy is a clinic targeted at low-income and out-of-work residents of Menlo Park and East Palo Alto. Sun and Cisco contributed significant monetary sums. And the expectations are high: two and half years of college courses are packed into nine months. According to the report, "attendance is mandatory, homework is piled on and the course work is complex." The first class will graduate in November of 2000. (September 8, 2000)
